as I have mentioned before I am a fan of Pete's photogrid project with the L'espion camera. Now it has finished I see one can buy the teeshirt! If I had $16.99 spare it would be mine. I note that there has been some photoblogging with picture messaging, but doesn't seem to have really taken off yet.

TURNING A BLOG INTO ITS COMMENTS: I love David's idea over at Swisscottage of turning his weblog into just a comments box for his readers while he takes a break in order to 'recharge batteries'. Its interesting how Swisscottage retains its identity as a site without its author contributing at all!

Over at The Obvious there is an interesting post about blogging for its own sake, its merits and faults. Indeed, this is an issue that many bloggers I have met raise. For some, the concern is that weblog posts have started to just become about other weblog posts or about blogging in general; they're fear is that weblogs are becoming too self-referential. But for others, this development is a sign of the rising public profile of blogging itself and is to be welcomed; it is nice to be involved in an activity, which itself becomes the subject of debate and discussion.

My blog, my blog on blogging

Me
I am a social anthropologist working at the University of Surrey, but conducting research on the culture of web logging in London. Since August 2001, I have been reading web logs and interviewing members of the UK blogging community. AnthroBlog is first and foremost my web log, but it also a site where I hope to explore ongoing issues and themes of fieldwork. I welcome any comments or inquiries from UK web loggers interested in being involved.contact me
